To the Citizens of Senate District 15
As we wrap up another week in the 114th Tennessee General Assembly, I am grateful to reflect on what has been a productive and engaging few days. From meaningful meetings with constituents to collaborating with fellow members on key legislation, this week has been full of purpose and progress.
On Wednesday, I had the privilege of meeting a District 15 hero, Evan Boyd, and presenting him a resolution to honor his bravery. Evan is an 8th-grade student at Gordonsville High School. In January, Evan spotted a gun in a classmate’s waistband. He planned to report it to the teacher, but decided it was too risky to wait. Evan jumped the student from behind, tackled him to the ground, disarmed him, and shoved the weapon across the floor. As others ran from the room, Evan held the student down until his teacher and the SRO were able to quickly intervene. Evan told me, “I was willing to risk getting shot to prevent others from getting hurt”. I am proud of Evan’s courage and grateful for his heroic actions.
As always, I remain deeply honored to serve the people of District 15. It is a privilege to represent your voice here in Nashville. As we move towards the conclusion of the first half of the 114th General Assembly, in the coming weeks, I want to once again thank you for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to reach out if my office can be of any assistance.
All My Best,
Paul
