To the Citizens of Tennessee Senate District 15
Friends,
On this Good Friday heading into Easter weekend, I hope you and your family have a chance to slow down and reflect on the blessings of this season and the sacrifice of our Savior.
Here at the Capitol, it’s hard to believe we’re already into April, but we’ve continued moving legislation forward focused on protecting Tennessee families, strengthening public safety, and ensuring government remains accountable.
Protecting Tennessee Taxpayers
The Senate passed legislation to ensure taxpayer dollars are not used to fund gender reassignment procedures.
This is about making sure public funds are used responsibly and reflect the values of Tennesseans.
Cracking Down on Illegal Commercial Drivers
We advanced legislation to strengthen enforcement against illegal commercial drivers and the employers who hire them.
This helps keep our roads safer by ensuring drivers meet proper licensing requirements and holding companies accountable when they cut corners.
Strengthening Protections Against Drink Spiking
Legislation also moved forward to crack down on drink spiking and improve safeguards in public settings.
This is a commonsense step to protect individuals and ensure there are real consequences for those who engage in this dangerous behavior.
Reducing Government Overreach
The Senate passed the Regulatory Freedom Act of 2026 to help rein in unnecessary regulations.
This legislation increases oversight of state agencies and ensures rules are reviewed more carefully – helping protect small businesses, encourage growth, and keep government accountable.
Please enjoy the photo below from one of the groups who visited us in Nashville this week. If you have a group that would be interested in visiting the Capitol, I encourage you to reach out to my office. We’d be glad to have you.
Wishing you and your family a blessed and joyful Easter.
Sincerely,
Senator Paul Bailey
