To the Citizens of Tennessee Senate District 15
Friends,
As we head toward the close of session, things are moving quickly at the Capitol to finalize legislation and wrap up the year’s work.
This week, we continued advancing measures focused on protecting Tennessee families, strengthening public safety, and ensuring government remains accountable.
Supporting Law Enforcement
The Senate passed legislation to ensure law enforcement officers are afforded due process when accused of misconduct.
This creates a clearer and more consistent process, ensuring officers have the opportunity to respond to allegations before facing career-altering consequences.
Protecting Churches and Religious Freedom
Legislation also passed to protect churches and places of worship from disruption.
This ensures Tennesseans can gather and practice their faith without interference, reinforcing the importance of religious liberty across our state.
Protecting Children
We continued advancing legislation focused on protecting young people across Tennessee.
One measure invests in prevention efforts to combat youth vaping, helping educate and protect the next generation from harmful products.
Another bill establishes safety standards for artificial intelligence, requiring companies to take responsibility for protecting children and responding when harm occurs.
Improving Patient Safety
The Senate passed legislation I sponsored to establish a certification process for IVF clinics in Tennessee.
This ensures clinics meet clear professional standards, maintain proper safety protocols, and are prepared to provide consistent, high-quality care for families.
Supporting Tennessee’s Economy and Communities
We also continued advancing several measures focused on strengthening our communities and supporting local businesses. This includes legislation I sponsored to support live music venues by ensuring ticket resellers give back to the venues and communities they benefit from, as well as a measure to reduce the cost and delay of certain annexations to help communities grow more efficiently.
In addition, we moved forward legislation to increase accountability for hit-and-run accidents resulting in death, ensure continuous insurance coverage for delivery drivers, and expand opportunities for fireworks sales as we approach America’s 250th anniversary.
We’re continuing to move quickly as session comes to a close, and I’ll keep working to get these measures across the finish line.
I hope you enjoy the pictures of some of the groups that visited our Nashville office this week.
As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve.
Sincerely,
Senator Paul Bailey
